Last week we had the opportunity to stay in the absolute cutest beach house right on Lake Michigan. Surfer Girl is a vacation rental by Oakley Home Builders and decorated by 6 Thirty Decor. Located in Michigan City, Indiana, this little slice of paradise is only an hour and a half from our home in Naperville, IL. Perfect easy driving distance with kids. When we arrived we easily got into the house with a keypad and checked it out. It was even better in person! It’s brand new and decorated SO cute. So many fun prints, wallpapers, textures and bright pops of color. Checkout the link above to see the whole house! It’s gorgeous!!
With 7 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms there is plenty of room for multiple families to come and vacation together.
Surfer Girl is located in a vacation rental community called Beachwalk. Adorable bright and pastel colored houses, each with it’s own unique name, line the streets. Golf carts everywhere as families make their way around to the pool, tennis court or beach. Right across the street from the community is Lake Michigan and the most beautiful soft sand beach.
Our favorite time of day was dusk. Heading to the beach, cocktail in hand, skipping stones and watching the sunset. These are some of my favorite family memories.
Right next to the pool there is a small private beach with lounge chairs to relax on. They also recently added a new clubhouse with cafe, outdoor seating, and ping pong tables. The other amenities include a large playground, baby pool, splash pad, a sand volleyball court, tennis court and basketball court.
To say we enjoyed our time here would be an understatement. We absolutely loved our vacation home, Surfer Girl. Oakley just finished 3 more rental properties within the Beachwalk community. I got to tour them all and they are just as beautifully done as Surfer Girl. They each have their own style and personality. Forever in Blue Jeans has a fun almost retro vibe. Drift Away is a more modern style with fun punches of green including a boxwood wall with neon sign. Blackbird, my personal favorite, has a monochromatic vibe, lots of black and white with cool art and a kid’s loft space.
We will absolutely be back. I think we found a new annual summer vacation spot!
