Did you know that you can crystallize pretty much anything you want?! Last Halloween, I turned this old book into a crystal spell book! This was so easy and honestly I’m obsessed. Inspo from @kristyncole. Make sure you use enough borax or it won’t work! The more water you have, the more borax you need. Want to learn how to make a crystal spell book? Read below!
Boil a big pot of water. While that’s heating up, grab an old book and glue down some pages folded in towards the middle. I used super glue but you could also use a glue gun. To add a spookier effect I also ripped out and cut pieces from the book. Grab a large bowl that is big enough for your object to fit in. Add at least half a box of borax to the bowl then add the boiling water after the borax. Stir until the borax is dissolved in the water. Add the book (or other objects you want to crystallize!) to the bowl, making sure it is completely covered. Leave the item in the water for at least 24 hours.
Once you remove the item, make sure to set it aside with plenty of time to dry. Once dried, I sprayed my book with a clear enamel to help protect it.
I also decided to crystallize some skeleton hands to add as if they are holding and reading the book. I added a crystallized spider for the final touch of my Halloween decor. Happy crystallizing!
